National Thrift Day Card: Shop Till You Drop
Today, August 17th is National Thrift Shop Day and in its honor I made this "Shop Till You Drop" Card. The card is made with Close to My Heart Cardstock including the Daisy white and pattern and pink paper from the new Brushed Collection.. Using my Explore I cut the shopping bag from the Create a Critter Cartridge and the words "Shop Till you Drop" are from Paisley cartridge. I also used two pink flowers from my stash to embellish the card. What girl or women doesn't like to shop and thrift shops are a great way to find that perfect item.

Create a Critter-- Zebra Card
Create a Critter cartridge offers so many opportunities for cards for every occasion. One of the many critters found on the cartridge is this adorable zebra. Although the sentiment says “Hello Love” this card makes me smile just because it is so cute.
Instructions:
1). Cut score and
fold 11 by 8.5 black and white zig zag card stock to form a 5.5 by 4.25 card
(Paper Fundamentals Basics Assortment-CTMH)
2). Using craft knife cut out zig zag border along folded
edge of card ( template below). Fold over chevron points to outside of card and
flatten with bone folder.
3). Cut zebra (sized at 3in by 3in ) from cricut ‘Create a Critter”
cartridge on black and white zig zag cardstock.
I turned the paper 90 degrees to have the pattern change direction.
4. Cut the shadow
zebra layer from black cardstock.
5. Cut out face layer from black cardstock.
Do not cut any other layers as they are not needed.
6. Cut out speech bubble with words miss you from red card stock (sized at 1.25in by 2.5in)
7. Using black ink
stamp “Hello Love” sentiment ( Hello Blooms Stamp Collection-CTMH) to red speck
bubble.
7. Using a very small piece of red card stock adhere to back
face piece in order to highlight the mouth portion of the face.
8. Adhere face section to striped zebra.
9. Adhere speech bubble to front of card.
10. Using 3D Foam Tape adhere striped zebra to shadow zebra.
11. Adhere sparkles for zebra eyes, and flower embellishment
to top of zebra’s head
12. Cut 4 pieces of
black/white zig zag card stock and adhere to 3 by 4 inch rectangle of daisy
white cardstock and adhere to inside of card for handwritten sentiment.
